In the ‘Music Room’ the precious Violin by Martinus Kaiser from 1685 brings us back to the importance of musical education in noble families. Willem Blaeu‘s terrestrial and celestial Globes and Vincenzo Coronelli‘s Cosmographic Epitome, exhibited in the ‘Portego’, are the cue to address the importance of studying geography in the education of young patricians.
The journey continues in the ‘Dining Room’ with the precious Porcelain Ice Cream Cups and Ice Cream Refreshers from the Sèvres Manufactory, dated 1795-96, which tell of the tastes and table manners of the palace’s owners.
The Table Pendulum, in gilded and chiselled bronze on a pedestal of malachite green marble, dated 1808-14 and made by Luigi Manfredini, refers to the chimes of time that marked the daily rituals of the Querinis. The ‘Bride and Groom’s Room’, with its lacquered and gilded wooden furniture and shirt racks from the mid-18th century, and the ‘Boudoir’ with the Toilet are dedicated to the theme of intimacy in the home.
